Drama unfolded on Monday night during the Ministry of Local Government's anti-corruption rally in Masaka City after a woman publicly accused State Minister Justine Nameere of failing to pay her UGX 150 million.
The rally, led by Minister Balaam Barugahara and Minister Justine Nameere, was intended to hear complaints from residents about corruption and service delivery in the area.
During the public session, one woman stood up and accused Nameere of failing to pay her for coffee seedlings she allegedly supplied.
According to the woman, she supplied coffee seedlings to Nameere and other senior NRM leaders in Masaka but has never received payment despite repeatedly demanding her money.
She further claimed that the minister has been ignoring her phone calls and other attempts to reach her.
Minister Nameere denied the allegations, insisting she had not cheated the woman.
In response to the dispute, Minister Balaam Barugahara assured the complainant that efforts would be made to resolve the matter, adding that he would seek financial support from President Yoweri Museveni to ensure she is paid.
The incident briefly interrupted the anti-corruption rally and drew reactions from members of the public who had gathered to present their own grievances.
