Comedian Patrick Salvador has spent over twenty-five years performing comedy in Uganda. He's a man who kickstarted the comedy industry, where many now earn a living; he's a living legend.
Speaking about the Ugandan comedy industry, fellow comedian Patrick Salvador praised Amooti for setting the stage and creating a path for many. He lauded him as the funniest Ugandan alive and a significant pillar in the lives of many young comedians across the country.
Salvador, however, believes Amooti isn't appreciated enough and is underrated. Salvador explained that he feels offended when placed in the same category as Amooti for comedy awards, believing Amooti is above everyone else.
"Amooti Omubalanguzi, hands down. Amooti, legend. I feel offended when he is put in a category of awards with us. I feel like he doesn’t get the flowers he deserves. He created the footprint of comedy," he explained in an interview with a local YouTuber.
Patrick Salvador believes the comedy industry wouldn't be as vibrant as it is today without the foundation laid by Amooti and others who started it years ago.
