Security Guard Who Killed a City Tycoon Is Arrested in Kanungu

A 28-year-old private security guard, Hilary Byaruhanga, has been arrested in Kanungu for the alleged murder and robbery of his employer, Anthony Mutinisa.

Byaruhanga, who was a guard for Don World Security Limited, is accused of shooting and killing Mutinisa, 53, the proprietor of Mutinisa Motors, on Sunday evening. According to police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, Byaruhanga allegedly fled the scene with cash and his employer's luxury SUV.

The suspect was on the run until Monday evening when he was apprehended in Kanungu, where he had been hiding. Police have since recovered the vehicle, registration number UA 769 BQ, in Katwe Cell, Kihihi Town Council.

“The suspect allegedly shot Mutinisa in cold blood on Sunday evening and fled with the victim's car, registration number UA 769 BQ, which has now been recovered in Katwe Cell, Kihihi Town Council by police in Kanungu,” Rusoke said.
