Longtime Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze was among the first people to criticize Sauda Madada when she announced she would be running independently for Woman Lord Councilor, Kampala Central.

Nambooze claimed that Madada was chasing a salary and other benefits that come with the position.

Her comments did not sit well with Sauda Madada, who has retaliated, revealing she is not after a salary or any other benefit.

Madada explained that she is committed to serving the people and pushing the struggle of the National Unity Platform forward.

A fierce Madada also pounced bitterly on Nambooze and asked her to retire from active politics. She explained that Betty Nambooze has been in parliament for a long time and that it is high time she quit.

"Betty Nambooze has been in leadership for a long time, and I don't blame her when she says I am after the salary. She must be personally focused on that because it's what she does. However, I am after serving my people. I think if we are serious about anything, Nambooze shouldn't be running for office again. She has overstayed, just like Museveni, and needs to quit," she explained in an interview with Sanyuka Television.

Sauda Madada believes two terms are enough for any leader to achieve their goals in the position and quit for other people to take on the mantle of leadership.
