Musician Jose Chameleone has opened up about his unusual connection to former Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) leader Joseph Kony, revealing that the rebel leader was once a fan of his music.

Speaking during a TikTok discussion, Chameleone claimed that Kony had expressed admiration for his music during a meeting with Norbert Mao and Richard Kaweesa in 2003.

The singer further revealed that, years later, he travelled with an American team to the Central African Republic on a mission to locate Kony.

According to Chameleone, the mission took place in 2012, when the Americans approached him and took him along on the trip. Although they reached an area occupied by Kony’s fighters, he said they only encountered rebels who were reportedly part of the LRA leader’s camp.

“In 2003, Richard Kaweesa and Norbert Mao met Joseph Kony. He told them how much he loved my music. In 2012, Americans came looking for me, and we went to the Central African Republic to look for Kony. We reached there and met some rebels who were in Kony’s camp,” he partly said.
