On Monday night, the National Unity Platform party released its parliament flag bearers for the Central and Eastern regions.

Many of the incumbents were thrown out by the party, and tickets were given to new faces.

Notable among those who received the party tickets are individuals who are close to Bobi Wine, also known as diehards.

However, two of his siblings also received endorsement from the party to run for different constituencies in the Central Region of Uganda.

The two are Nyanzi Fred Sentamu, elder brother to Bobi Wine, who was endorsed for Kawempe South, and Sentamu Betty, who will be running for Gomba district Woman MP.

Criticism has mainly come forward due to Nyanzi's unpopularity in the area.

"Three Ssentamus, one family, all running for office: Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Betty Ssentamu Nyanzi Ssentamu Folks, this reeks of political greed. Imagine the uproar if despot Museveni’s family pulled the same move, huh! Eno protest vote oba family rule?" a post on X read.

A fierce social media critic and supporter of the National Unity Platform wondered what Bobi Wine will do better for Ugandans if he continues with the family rule, just like President Museveni.

"I am very disappointed in you, my party president, @HEBobiwine. We are fighting despot @KagutaMuseveni's family rule in Uganda while you are giving two tickets to your siblings to go to parliament!? This is indefensible, unacceptable, and inexcusable nepotism. What the hell is this? Were cards given basing on one's surname? We have betrayed Ugandans, mainly the fallen and imprisoned soldiers! Good night, folks. I am speechless!"
