Renowned actor Jonathan Edwards Suubi, popularly known as Dr. Gordon Ssemagonja, has revealed that he was almost taken to court after speaking publicly about his past relationship with fellow actress Evelyn Namulondo.
Dr. Gordon said he dated Namulondo for about a year and a half, describing himself at the time as innocent, emotional and inexperienced in matters of love.
He explained that he invested heavily in the relationship and was deeply affected when it eventually ended, saying the breakup left him emotionally drained for months.
According to the actor, matters took a more serious turn when he was warned that he could face legal action simply for confirming that he and Namulondo had previously been in a relationship.
Dr. Gordon said the experience prompted him to ask the media and the public to stop discussing his past with Namulondo, especially because she has since moved on with her life.
“Out of respect, I’m begging we stop talking about it because she has a partner and we shouldn’t be talking about her. The truth is, I got in trouble just by speaking about Evelyn Namulondo, whom we dated. I was going to be served in court for telling people we ever had a relationship. Let us not speak about it and focus on the current things,” he said.
The actor also admitted that he considers himself unlucky in love, saying some of his past relationships have left lasting emotional scars.
