Musician Fille Mutoni, once seen as one of the most promising female talents in Uganda’s music industry, has opened up about life after successfully completing rehabilitation.
Fille, who previously competed closely with fellow star Spice Diana, was widely expected to dominate the female music space. However, her career took a downward turn when she fell into drug and alcohol addiction — a struggle that nearly cost her everything.
After years of denial and withdrawal from music, the singer checked herself into rehabilitation last year, marking the beginning of her healing and transformation.
Now, Fille says she has embraced gospel music and is enjoying a renewed and fulfilling life away from the public spotlight.
“I am doing good, peaceful and happy. It’s funny how people assume you are unhappy or struggling just because you are not active on social media,” she explained.
Fille shared that she continues to live joyfully even without being constantly on stage, and urged fans not to worry about her absence from mainstream entertainment.
She expressed deep gratitude to friends, fellow musicians and industry stakeholders who supported her during her darkest moments and stood by her recovery journey.
Fille says she is excited for the future and remains thankful for life, peace, and the chance to rebuild stronger than before.
