Former Makerere University Guild President Churchill Sentamu says National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, inspired his decision to pursue a career in politics.

Speaking during an interview with a local television station, Sentamu said Bobi Wine's decision to transition from music into active politics had a significant influence on his own political ambitions.

"Bobi Wine inspired me to join politics. His decision to go into politics pushed me really hard. I will actually contest even in the coming elections," Sentamu said.

Sentamu also revealed that he intends to return to elective politics in 2031 after previously losing his bid for the Youth Member of Parliament position in the Buganda region.

According to Sentamu, his previous electoral setback has not ended his political ambitions, with plans to continue pursuing elective office in the future.
