Rapper Fefe Bussi has sparked fresh controversy after taking aim at musicians Gravity Omutujju, Eddy Kenzo, and BigEye, arguing that their success is driven more by hard work than natural talent.
Speaking during an interview on a local podcast, Fefe Bussi claimed that although the trio has enjoyed massive success in the music industry, their achievements are a result of relentless effort rather than musical giftedness.
According to the rapper, Uganda’s music industry often rewards hard work over talent, leaving many gifted artists struggling to break through.
“Gravity has no talent but he is hardworking. The same applies to Eddy Kenzo and BigEye. In Uganda, musicians who are talented don’t make it to the top—the hardworking ones are the ones who have made it,” Fefe Bussi said.
Fefe Bussi further explained that talent alone is not enough to guarantee success, describing it as costly if not supported by discipline, consistency, and determination.
He emphasized that without hard work, even the most talented musicians are unlikely to register meaningful success in Uganda’s competitive music industry.
The remarks have since triggered heated debate online, with fans divided over whether success in Ugandan music is driven more by talent or tireless grind.
