Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Chief Prince (Okwiri) Fred Mugenyi Ruchunya has revealed that Omukama Dr. Rukirabasaija Agutamba Iguru Solomon Gafabusa is reportedly unwell.
Speaking to the media, Chief Prince Mugenyi said the King has been experiencing health challenges but did not disclose details about his condition.
He instead appealed to the Omukama’s subjects, friends and well-wishers to keep him in their prayers as he continues his recovery.
The Chief Prince also addressed the ongoing leadership situation within the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, revealing that the tenure of Prime Minister Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi expired several months ago.
According to Mugenyi, the kingdom is preparing to make changes to its leadership structures.
He urged Byakutaga to peacefully vacate the Prime Minister’s office, warning against unnecessary conflict or wrangles during the transition.
The latest developments come as the kingdom navigates changes to its leadership while attention remains on the health of the Omukama.
