Snger Green Daddy has sparked massive debate online after publicly accusing Mulago National Referral Hospital of negligence following the tragic death of his newborn child.
The visibly emotional musician broke down during a TikTok Live session, where he vented his frustration and anger towards the medical staff at the government-run facility, alleging that poor care and negligence contributed to the loss of his baby.
In the viral clips making rounds on social media, Green Daddy questioned the state of Uganda’s healthcare system, saying the tragedy forced him to face harsh realities he had previously ignored.
“I performed for this government throughout their campaign, from start to finish, because I wanted money, and they paid me. But now we are facing reality — my child is dead. If I hadn’t come here to talk, it would have been for nothing. I am a musician and our job is to raise voices,” Green Daddy said.
The singer further claimed that on the night his child passed away, there were no nurses on duty, a situation he says also led to the death of another newborn at the same hospital.
His emotional outburst has since triggered mixed reactions on social media. While many fans sympathized with him and offered condolences, others turned the moment into political criticism.
Some users blamed him for previously supporting the government, arguing that he only realized the broken healthcare system when it affected him personally.
One social media user identified as Joram commented:
“I am sorry about the death of your daughter, but you should also be blamed for supporting a government whose health system is on life support. We deserve better, but you did not see it a few weeks back just because you were receiving money.”
The incident has once again reignited conversations about the state of public healthcare in Uganda, with many calling for accountability and urgent reforms at Mulago Hospital.
