FDC president Patrick Amuriat calls out Bobi Wine over alleged “hide and seek” tactics, urging him to step up and lead his supporters after the elections.
Former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, commonly known as Bobi Wine, has come under sharp criticism from FDC president Patrick Amuriat, it has emerged.
Bobi Wine has allegedly been in “hiding” since the 15th January general elections, claiming that security operatives are hunting for him and have continued camping at his home in Magere, Wakiso District.
Now, Amuriat has urged the opposition leader to step up and provide direction to his supporters, saying leadership is needed at such a critical time.
He explained that Bobi Wine’s hide-and-seek tactics are leaving foot soldiers desperate and uncertain about their next move, adding that many could also retreat out of fear.
“Stop the hide and seek, come out and provide leadership to your people. If I were the one, I would be on the ground telling foot soldiers to act and push to take back their country. Many of them are frightened and might also go into hiding. This is not good for the struggle, especially for those who came out openly and supported Bobi Wine during the elections,” he explained.
Patrick Amuriat believes that choosing to remain in hiding at such a moment risks derailing the struggle for change in the country.
