Dancehall musician Vyper Ranking has said he does not regret missing Jamaican singer Spice’s concert, which took place over the weekend at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

The event attracted several Ugandan dancehall artistes, including Cindy Sanyu, Ziza Bafana, Mark Da Urban, and Sheebah Karungi.

However, Vyper Ranking was noticeably absent from both the concert and the official press events leading up to the show.

Speaking in an interview, the singer explained that performing at the concert would not have benefited him either financially or professionally.

“Performing at Spice’s concert was not going to add anything to my career. I do music as a business, and if something is not benefiting me financially, then I stay away from it,” he said.

Vyper Ranking, however, clarified that he would have performed if he had been officially booked and paid for the appearance.

His comments have since sparked debate among fans regarding the balance between exposure and financial gain in the music industry.
