Western Uganda-based singer Omega 256 has pushed back against Cindy Sanyu's recent claims regarding ownership and production of their hit collaboration, See You Tonight.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Omega 256 disputed Cindy's assertion that she played the central role in bringing the project to life. According to Omega, she personally financed both the audio and video production of the song.
“She was not being sincere yesterday as she spoke because I personally financed the project. I paid for both the audio and video production, as opposed to her claims. She never contributed to the finances,” Omega said.
The singer further revealed that tensions between the two artists emerged following the distribution of YouTube earnings generated by the song.
Omega alleged that disagreements arose after the revenue was shared, claiming Cindy expected a larger portion of the proceeds than what she eventually received.
She believes the dispute over revenue distribution is what triggered the fallout between them.
The comments come amid an ongoing public exchange between the two musicians regarding the ownership, creative contribution, and financial investment behind See You Tonight, one of the most successful collaborations in recent years.
While Cindy previously maintained that she played a key role in the song's creation and development, Omega insists she carried the financial burden of producing the project.
Despite the disagreement, See You Tonight remains one of the duo's biggest hits, earning widespread acclaim and several industry accolades since its release.
