Victoria University Vice Chancellor Lawrence Muganga has said he has no regrets about missing out on a ministerial appointment, insisting that his career and personal success are not defined by public office.

Muganga was nominated by President Yoweri Museveni for the position of State Minister for Internal Affairs. However, Parliament did not approve his appointment following questions surrounding his citizenship status.

Speaking during an interview, Muganga said he is content with his current role as Vice Chancellor of Victoria University and remains focused on his professional career.

"Criticism doesn't bother me. Missing a ministerial appointment does not define me because I am doing well in my career and earning a good salary," he explained.

He added that serving in government would have been an opportunity to contribute to Uganda's development, emphasizing that the appointment would have benefited the country more than it would have benefited him personally.
