Singer Dax Vibez has dismissed reports of a fallout with fellow artiste Vinka after missing her maiden concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval on August 21, 2026.
Dax was expected to perform their hit collaboration “Believe” during the concert after reportedly attending rehearsals and taking part in the soundcheck on the eve of the show.
However, the singer did not appear on stage, sparking speculation on social media that his absence could have been linked to Vinka’s political affiliation with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Dax, who is also a brother to National Unity Platform (NUP) president Bobi Wine, has now dismissed the claims, explaining that he was unable to perform because of emergencies he encountered on the day of the concert.
“They didn’t stop me from collaborating with Vinka on the song we did, so they couldn’t have stopped me from performing. I just failed to perform due to some emergencies I encountered on the D-day. I was there for soundtesting the night before,” he said.
The singer also denied having any bad blood with Vinka, revealing that they communicated the day after the concert following the rumours that had circulated online.
“We spoke on WhatsApp with Vinka and then her team contacted me the next morning because there were a lot of rumours on social media. We harmonized and there is love,” he said.
Dax’s explanation comes amid heightened political discussions within Uganda’s entertainment industry, where artistes have increasingly found themselves under scrutiny over their political affiliations.
Despite the speculation surrounding his absence, Dax insists that his relationship with Vinka remains intact and that there is no political or personal fallout between them.
