Police say CCTV footage at Guvnor night club shows Ivan Kamyuka Kalyesubula stabbing Johnnie Ahimbisibwe with a piece of broken glass during a fight on Sunday morning.

33-year-old Kamyuka of Kisaasi — a human resource manager of Lake Bounty Limited — was arrested hours after the incident. He remained detained at Jinja Road police station Monday evening while his wife, Nina Nyarwaka, also under police detention since Sunday, was released on police bond.

According to police, the fight ensued when Johnnie approached the accused who was in the company of his wife.

The video footage, police says, also shows Johnnie hurling a glass at them and later Kamyuka picks one of the broken pieces and stabs him in the neck.  Johnnie, a father of two, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Case Medical Centre were efforts to revive him failed.

At Jinja Road Police station, Nyarwaka, who is also mother of a six-year old , one of Johnnie's children, said she and Kamyuka were attacked without any provocation.

Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango said that Nyarwaka's statement corroborates with the CCTV footage analysed by the police.
