Sembabule Police are investigating circumstances under which a guard at Uganda Martyrs Secondary school was killed.

The deceased has been identified as Yiyoyita Damaseke whose body was found this morning in the school flower garden covered in blood.

A cleaner at the school, one Janipher Kabukazi, who was sweeping, found the motionless body and alerted the school management which immediately called police.

A huge club was also found next to the body indicating that he might have been hit using the same. His bow and arrows which he uses on his guard duty were also taken.

The death of the guard has disrupted studies at the school with students left in shock.

Police led by Sembabule District Police commander Dennis Musinguzi rushed to the scene and took the body away.

Police say the deceased was found with a huge cut on his head indicating a sharp object was used to hit him which apparently led to over bleeding leading to his death.

Lameck Kigozi, the South Buganda Region Police Spokesperson says the body has been taken to Sembabule Health Centre IV for postmortem. He says police have started hunting for the killers as investigations into the motive of the killing get underway.
