Word coming from the corridors of the National Theatre indicates that the 13 Billion, which was allocated to the artists, will be channeled through Ragga Dee's National Cultural Forum.
It's alleged that the Uganda National Musicians Federation failed to prove how the money would be shared among the musicians' associations and Saccos. The Ministry of Gender, therefore, chose to channel the money to Ragga Dee's National Cultural Forum.
It's also reported that Kenzo failed to prove the authenticity of some of the associations under the UNMF, causing a stallment that forced the bosses at the Gender Ministry to give the money to NCF, which has known structures.
"Kenzo's federation will not be receiving the money. It has been channeled to Ragga Dee's National Cultural Forum. The ministry didn't recognize the federation and its association because of misses in papers. Instead, they agreed to channel it to NCF because it's legally registered, and its structures are open to the ministry," a source who asked for anonymity told this website.
In October this year, the government chose to empower musicians with 13 billion Uganda shillings. At first, it was reported that the money would go through Eddy Kenzo's federation, but reports now suggest it will go through the National Cultural Forum.
