Musician Elijah Kitaka is one person who has publicly criticized the federation, its leaders, and its activities. He doesn't believe in Kenzo's leadership and believes there are other people who can offer something better in championing the objectives of the federation.

In an interview with a local television, Kitaka explained the federation is a good initiative, but it needs to be organized. He says the federation needs independent, neutral leaders from outside the industry to offer strategic leadership for the good of the industry. He says artistes are always biased against one another, and it's hard to offer effective leadership.

"The federation has a place, but we need to get organized. Musicians shouldn’t be on the cabinet; it leads to bias and comparisons. We need independent, neutral leaders from outside the industry to guide us forward," he explained.

The Swangz Avenue singer also called upon Eddy Kenzo to stop crying crocodile tears and work for the growth of the industry.

"I love Eddy Kenzo, but the truth is we need to put in the work. Our industry is dying, and this message needs to reach the Presidential Advisor," he added.
