Singer Lydia Jazmine says only artists who are certain to perform will be allowed to rehearse for her upcoming concert, as she seeks to avoid last-minute cancellations.
Her remarks follow rapper Feffe Bussi's absence from Karole Kasita's "The Power Within" concert after he had reportedly attended rehearsals, leaving some fans disappointed when he did not appear on stage.
Speaking during a media interview, Jazmine said she could not understand why an artist would attend rehearsals without intending to perform at the concert.
"I saw that, and I do not know why it happened. That was so bad because why show up for rehearsals if you are not going to perform at the concert? The earlier you tell me, the better," she said.
The singer explained that rehearsals create expectations among both the organizers and the audience, making last-minute withdrawals difficult to manage.
"If you are not going to come to the concert, I would rather prepare to perform the song alone. I will rehearse with the band and figure out how to perform it by myself," she added.
Jazmine said she plans to share rehearsal footage ahead of The One & Only Concert, maintaining that every artist seen rehearsing with her will also perform at the event scheduled for September 4 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
