Earlier this month, Hajjati Kulthum Muzaata confirmed the end of her romantic relationship with Nkuba Kyeyo Akram Gumisiriza.
In a long post shared on her social media pages, Kulthum Muzaata confirmed the end of the marriage and revealed the two are no longer in contact.
"After much reflection, deep soul-searching, and countless attempts to mend what’s been broken between us, I have come to the difficult decision to end our marriage. This is not something I do lightly, and it is not an impulsive act. It is the result of months—perhaps years—of feeling the distance between us grow despite every effort to bridge it," part of the statement read.
Kulthum added she no longer felt loved or appreciated and couldn't remain stuck in the relationship because it could only bring more pain and harm to the two people involved.
"We both know our relationship has changed. The love we once shared, the connection we used to nurture, now feels like something we’re only trying to hold together out of habit, history, or fear. I no longer feel seen, heard, or supported in the ways that matter most. And I imagine, if you're honest with yourself, you’ve felt the same too. This is not about blame. It’s about acknowledging that we are no longer good for each other in the way that a partnership should be. And while it breaks my heart to say goodbye to the life we once imagined together, I know that holding on any longer would only deepen the pain for both of us," she added.
However, in a recent interview with Spark Television, Kulthum Muzaata singled out the media for destroying her relationship with Akram Gumisiriza.
She explained that the media constantly spread falsehoods and negative propaganda against Akram Gumisiriza, which often led to disagreements and irreconcilable differences between them.
"Media people destroyed my marriage. They spread a lot of propaganda and falsehoods. Mostly bloggers, they made me give up on him," she explained.
Kulthum Muzaata specifically pointed out Jenkins Mukasa for ruining her relationship with Akram Gumisiriza.
"Bloggers, particularly Jenkins Mukasa, spoke 'shit' about my marriage repeatedly. I chose to give up on the man for my own good. I hope Jenkins is now living a happy life," she added.
Hajjati Kulthum Muzaata and Akram Gumisiriza officially legalized their marriage in 2022.
