Musician Fik Gaza earlier this month officially joined the National Resistance Movement (NRM) at an event in Kampala, which was graced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Different people alleged that he joined the NRM after receiving bags of money from "Sevo's" (President Museveni's) camp for a better life.

The singer, however, has denied the allegations, revealing he made a choice to join the NRM for the benefit of the Ghetto people.

He explained that over time, the President has supported the Ghetto communities. He appreciated him for doing so and asked for better services going forward.

"I didn't cross to Sevo's camp for money. I was appreciating him for the support he has given the ghetto people, asking for more support, but not personal gains as per allegations," he explained in an interview with a local television.

Fik Gaza was previously a member of the National Unity Platform (NUP). Despite being in NUP, he continued to work with those in government, especially Youth Minister Balaam Barugahare, until this month when he made it official.

Fik Gaza now says he is going to work with other artists in the NRM, including Alien Skin, Eddy Kenzo, Gravity Omutujju, and Bebe Cool, among others, to spread "Sevo's" message.

He also boasts of remaining friends with Bobi Wine despite crossing over to the National Resistance Movement.
