Musician Priscilla Zawedde, popularly known as Azawi, has been a prominent voice in criticizing the Ugandan government this year. She has consistently highlighted the government's shortcomings at every opportunity.

Despite facing intimidation and significant backlash from government officials, the singer remains steadfast in her commitment to the struggle for freedom. Azawi asserts she will continue to call out the government whenever possible, believing that such criticism often prompts them to reconsider their actions.

"It's not easy to criticize the government. You face intimidation; at times they blackmail you, but you have to remain determined and focused on doing the right thing," she explained in an interview with a local YouTuber. "You know they have power and will always sabotage different things you do, but whenever you see anyone doing it, just know he is very brave."

Azawi believes that while the government cannot fulfill every need of the populace, it should at least provide basic necessities such as education. She argues that investing in education is crucial for fostering efficient human capital, which in turn drives societal development.
