Musician and now turned politician, Ali Buken, also known as Nubian Li, has been officially nominated to contest for the position of Mayor of Nakawa Division.
Nubian Li will be running for the position on the ticket of the National Unity Platform.
The singer revealed he has massive support across Nakawa and is very confident of winning the position in the elections next year.
Nubian Li was accompanied by the Nakawa East member of Parliament, Ronald Balimwezo, and the current division speaker, Godfrey Luyombya.
He was also accompanied by his wife, Mutoni Shiko, which put to rest the rumors of their breakup that had spread earlier this month.
Nubian Li will be competing against the current Mayor of the division, Paul Mugambe. Mugambe was also nominated to run as an independent after being denied the National Unity Platform's party ticket.
