Relatives claiming to be part of the late comedian Kapere’s family have renewed their demands over his burial, insisting that his remains should be exhumed and transferred to his ancestral grounds in Mityana District.
The demands come despite the comedian having already been laid to rest. The relatives allege that Kapere’s wife, working alongside members of the National Unity Platform (NUP), took his body to Mukono for burial without their knowledge or consent.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, one of the relatives said the family wants Kapere’s remains returned to Mityana, where they believe he should have been buried.
“We only want the body of our brother to be brought here on the ancestral grounds for burial. The wife, in conjunction with NUP, grabbed the body to Mukono without our knowledge. It is unacceptable, and we need justice,” the relative said.
The relatives have also demanded a public apology from Mama Trump, accusing him of falsely claiming that Kapere had no relatives.
The family’s claims remain allegations, and the dispute over the comedian’s burial continues.
