The National Peasants' Party (NPP) has officially summoned its own President, singer-turned-politician Hajat Stecia Mayanja Faridah, to appear before its National Executive Committee (NEC) today, September 25, 2025, at 4:00 pm.
The summons, issued by Secretary General Sentongo Sharif Nambale, is in response to "allegations of her participation in NRM political rallies," a move the party claims is "inconsistent with the National Peasants Party Constitution."
The public notice emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability, stating that Mayanja will be given a fair hearing to respond to the allegations at the party headquarters.
The NPP warned that failure to appear without a valid reason may result in disciplinary action against the party leader. Mayanja's alleged attendance at rallies for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has put her at odds with the opposition party she leads, sparking an immediate internal crisis.
