Musician Nina Kakunda, also known as Nina Roz, is among the few people who received an endorsement from the biggest opposition party to run in the upcoming elections.
Nina Roz will be carrying the party's flag in Sembabule District and is hoping to secure victory for the party.
Speaking about her candidature, the musician says she is an inspiration to young girls and believes many struggling women will look up to her for her determination.
"I am an inspiration to the young girls and want them to keep their hopes alive. I have come from nowhere, but the party has trusted me with this leadership. I am not giving up and will strive to secure the position for the National Unity Platform." she explained.
Despite receiving NUP's endorsement, Nina Roz still faces a task in securing the position in parliament because Sembabule District is dominated by the ruling government.
In the last elections, NUP managed to win only one constituency, and the rest were swept by the National Resistance Movement.
