Outspoken politician Paul Lutamaguzi has showered praise on National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, saying he has completely transformed Uganda’s political landscape.
Lutamaguzi, who is the Member of Parliament for Nakaseke South, said Bobi Wine’s entry into politics awakened millions of Ugandans who had long been detached from national affairs.
“Kyagulanyi has introduced a kind of politics that is not ordinary. People have now realized that politics, especially in Parliament, has become a business — many join just to make money. But Kyagulanyi has awakened the citizens,” Lutamaguzi explained.
The MP, known for passionately defending Bobi Wine, has frequently appeared in the media this year, taking on critics of the NUP leader, including fellow opposition figures like Mathias Mpuuga and his group.
Lutamaguzi recently crossed from the Democratic Party (DP) to NUP and is seeking to retain his parliamentary seat under the party’s ticket in the upcoming elections.
