Musician Ibrahim Mayanja, popularly known as Big Eye, has opened up about the emotional impact of missing out on the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer position for the Nansana Municipality MP seat — a decision that left many of his supporters deeply stunned.

Big Eye revealed that numerous people close to him had unwavering confidence in his ability to secure the ticket.

According to him, his team believed his dedication, passion, and increasing involvement in community affairs made him the ideal candidate for the 2026 parliamentary race.

However, things took an unexpected turn when the flag was instead given to former NBS TV news anchor Zambali Bulasio Mukasa — a development that shocked both the musician and his enthusiastic supporters.

“Most people believed that I deserved to win the Nansana Municipality NUP MP ticket. My missing out shocked many because they believed in my potential. Those who know me — my inner circle — understand how passionate and committed I am. I truly believe I would make a good MP,” Big Eye said.

Despite the setback, Big Eye expressed humility and optimism, maintaining that he still believes in his abilities and future prospects.

He further explained that the experience opened his eyes to the realities of politics and those around him.

“Missing the ticket helped me understand the people in my circle. It exposed different personalities and intentions — showing who truly supports me and who doesn’t,” he added.

Big Eye remains confident that his political journey is far from over.
