Musician Denzo has opened up about his troubled past with Bebe Cool’s Gagamel crew, claiming that his years of loyalty and hard work brought him little to no benefit.
Denzo spent several years in the Gagamel camp and was often at the forefront defending Bebe Cool during public confrontations with Bobi Wine. However, after quitting the crew, he chose to pursue music independently and is currently operating as a one-man act.
Speaking during an interview with a local television station, Denzo revealed that neither he nor other members of the Gagamel crew gained financially from the group’s activities, despite participating in successful shows.
“There is no one who benefited from the time we spent in Gagamel. No one made money out of it. We did successful shows in Kiwatule, but instead of being rewarded, we were given pennies—as little as 30,000 shillings. There must have been something bad done to us,” Denzo said.
The singer went on to brand Bebe Cool as selfish and controversially suggested that the crew may have been bewitched, pointing to what he described as years of effort without progress.
Denzo also expressed regret over his past attacks on Bobi Wine, admitting that the confrontations he engaged in while at Gagamel did not benefit him in any way.
Now focused on rebuilding his career, Denzo says he is determined to move forward independently, leaving behind what he describes as a painful and unfruitful chapter of his life.
