Media personality Miles Rwamitti has learnt the hard way that being good on TV doesn’t automatically translate into political clout.

Rwamitti, who was contesting for the Nakawa West MP seat, suffered a humiliating defeat after finishing dead last with a mere 242 votes in an election dominated by Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi.

Ssenyonyi comfortably retained the seat after polling the highest number of votes, while NRM’s Anderson Burora came second in what was otherwise a fiercely contested race.

What has shocked many observers, however, are allegations that Miles Rwamitti didn’t even vote for himself.

According to controversial gossip analyst Zubenda, the TV host scored zero votes at his own polling station, raising eyebrows about his ground support.

“He performed very terribly. In fact, he failed to vote for himself. He got zero at his own polling station, and it allegedly took Hajjat Namyalo’s influence for him to even reach the 242 votes,” Zubenda claimed.

Rwamitti was contesting on the Common Man’s Party ticket.

This isn’t his first political disappointment either. Back in the 2021 elections, Rwamitti managed only 149 votes when he contested for Hoima East MP on the FDC ticket.
