Comedian Sam Okanya, commonly known as Sammie, has appealed to friends and wellwishers for financial support to complete the construction of his newly established church, it has emerged.

Over the weekend, Sammie went public about starting a church aimed at reigniting hope and faith among believers, making appearances on different TikTok platforms where he called upon youths to embrace God’s teachings.

The comedian has now revealed that he is financially incapacitated and cannot singlehandedly fund the church project without external support.

Sammie explained that contributions from friends and wellwishers will help him complete the church structure and effectively serve his growing congregation.

Before venturing into ministry, Sammie was actively involved in Ugandan politics and was notably associated with the National Unity Platform.

However, after facing various challenges including imprisonment and health complications, he chose to step away from politics and dedicate his life to serving God.
