A public spat has erupted between Mawokota South Member of Parliament Yusuf Nsibambi and political commentator Bigirwa Moses following Nsibambi’s recent shift to the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Earlier this month, Nsibambi crossed from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) to the ruling party, a move that sparked widespread debate. Critics alleged that his defection was influenced by financial incentives from President Yoweri Museveni, while others claimed he had been promised a ministerial position.

Among his most vocal critics was Bigirwa Moses, who accused Nsibambi of “dining with President Museveni” for financial advancement.

In response, Nsibambi dismissed Bigirwa as financially unstable and claimed he had previously supported him by paying his university tuition.

The remarks did not sit well with Bigirwa, who fired back, clarifying that Nsibambi only gave him UGX 200,000 in 2013.

“I have never opposed Nsibambi; I have only spoken the truth. He did not pay for my education. He simply gave me 200,000 shillings in 2013, and nothing beyond that. If he wishes, I can return it immediately,” Bigirwa stated.

The exchange has since gained traction online, with supporters from both sides weighing in on the controversy surrounding Nsibambi’s political switch.
