President Yoweri Museveni has celebrated the marriage of his granddaughter, Sasi Karugire, describing it as a personal milestone and a testament to faith.

The remarks followed her traditional kuhingira ceremony, which was held over the weekend.

Sasi Karugire is the daughter of Natasha Museveni Karugire and Edwin Karugire.

In his message, President Museveni reflected on family, faith, and Uganda’s history, expressing gratitude for witnessing such a moment.

“I am grateful to God for blessing me and Maama Janet with a family, and for enabling us to have children even during very challenging times when Uganda was in turmoil,” Museveni said.

“I am thankful to have lived to see my children grow up, start their own families, and now I am grateful to God to see my grandchild, Sasi Karugire, getting married,” he added.

He also emphasized the role of faith in his life, noting that such milestones are a result of trusting in God.

“It teaches me that when you do God’s work, He will do yours,” he said.

Sasi Karugire is married to the son of Lt. Gen. Sam Kavuma, only identified as Tash!
