Media personality Florence Nampijja has revealed why she has chosen not to join TikTok despite the platform's growing popularity and income opportunities.
Speaking during an interview with former television presenter Faridah Nakazibwe, Nampijja said she does not own a TikTok account, noting that any accounts bearing her name are fake.
According to Nampijja, creating and maintaining content on TikTok requires a level of commitment and consistency that she currently cannot afford.
“I don’t have anything to post there. I see people spend a lot of time making content, and I don’t have that time. Their cameras are always on and clean, shooting content,” she said.
While discussing the platform, Faridah Nakazibwe pointed out that many content creators earn substantial income through TikTok videos, advertisements, and viral challenges. However, Nampijja maintained that she has no plans to join the app.
She explained that building a successful TikTok presence requires frequent posting and continuous engagement with followers.
“I think the account has to grow first, and for that to happen, it means you have to keep posting. For me, I don’t see myself having the time to grow an account,” she added.
Instead, Nampijja prefers to focus on Facebook and Instagram, which she says are the only social media platforms she actively uses.
The media personality also disclosed that she is still rebuilding her online presence after losing her original Facebook page to hackers in 2022. The page reportedly had more than 500,000 followers before it was compromised, forcing her to start over with a new account.
