Singer Omega 256 has called on fellow musician Cindy Sanyu to publicly apologize for comments she recently made regarding their hit collaboration, See You Tonight.
Speaking during an interview with a local television station, Omega said Cindy's remarks were unfair and damaging to her reputation. She maintained that the claims made about the song's production and ownership did not accurately reflect her contribution to the project.
According to Omega, she played a significant financial role in bringing the song to life, contributing to both the audio and video production.
“I need an apology from her because she has affected my brand. I have never done something bad to her. The comments she made were all false. I contributed financially to the audio and video production,” Omega said.
The singer further revealed that she has previously defended Cindy in various radio and television interviews, even when doing so attracted criticism from some members of the public.
“I have had times where I have defended her in interviews and people criticized me,” she added.
Omega described Cindy's comments as derogatory and argued that they have negatively impacted her public image and professional standing.
The latest remarks add another chapter to the ongoing disagreement between the two artists over See You Tonight, with both musicians offering differing accounts regarding the song's production, ownership, and revenue-sharing arrangements.
Despite the public fallout, See You Tonight remains one of the most successful collaborations in recent Ugandan music history, earning widespread popularity and industry recognition.
