Band musician Kazibwe Kapo over the weekend staged a successful concert in Kampala, which attracted a huge turnout and was considered a major success.
However, amidst the controversy that followed the event, the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) claimed it had supported the concert, a claim that Kazibwe Kapo has publicly denied.
Speaking in an interview with Shalom, the band singer firmly dismissed reports that he received financial support from UNMF or its President, Eddy Kenzo.
Kazibwe Kapo explained that the musicians who supported his concert did so by purchasing tables and attending the event.
"I never received any funding from UNMF or even Eddy Kenzo. The reports circulating about them funding my event are false. The people who supported me attended the event, and the artistes who came through for me bought tables and were also present on that day," he partly explained.
