For the past two days, Ugandan musician Bebe Cool and former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi have been engaged in a public social media clash over fraud allegations.
Bebe Cool claims that Jolly Mutesi scammed him last year with promises of helping his son, Alpha Thierry Ssali, secure opportunities with European football clubs, among other commitments.
Mutesi strongly denied the allegations and instructed her lawyer, Counsel Mukasa Mbidde, to issue a legal notice to Bebe Cool.
However, Bebe Cool has this afternoon confirmed the end of the public dispute following a phone call with Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who reportedly advised him to cease fire and resolve the matter privately.
"Good morning, all. This morning I received a call from my big brother, Gen. MK, regarding the issue with Jolly. As my elder and leader, he advised me to drop it, delete the tweets, and resolve it amicably off social media since we are both family to him and there is no need for a public spat. I appreciate his guidance and agree. Thank you," Bebe Cool wrote on his X handle.
Bebe Cool says he believes the matter will now be resolved peacefully, noting that both he and Jolly Mutesi share close ties with Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
