Musician and actress Hellen Lukoma has urged women to work hard and build their own financial independence instead of relying entirely on their partners for financial support.
Lukoma made the remarks during a recent interview with a local television station, where she opened up about the support she receives from her husband.
According to Lukoma, while she is well provided for and receives whatever she needs from her husband, she believes women should still have their own sources of income.
“I am given everything I want because I deserve it. I am beautiful and talented, so I receive what I want. However, I always advise women to work for themselves and be independent,” she said in part.
The singer stressed that having a supportive partner should not stop a woman from pursuing her own ambitions and building a financially secure future.
Lukoma has on several occasions encouraged women to embrace hard work and self-sufficiency, arguing that independence gives women greater control over their lives.
