Swangz Avenue singer Vinka has vowed not to turn out like Keko whose career stalled after signing a deal with Sony Music.

In an interview, Vinka revealed how her team at Swangz Avenue negotiated a better deal with the giant record label. Sony is only responsible for distributing her music.

There is a general belief that most artists fade after signing with big international labels but Vinka is not convinced by such statements.

“You need a team to prosper and I am grateful to have that. I do not think the other artists sign fake contracts, the biggest problem is not having a team that understands your brand. Keko needed management to back her up,” she explained.

In 2019, Vinka signed a contract with Sony Music Africa. The continental division is part of the international brand Sony Music Entertainment, one of the biggest and most reputable music companies in the world.
