Since the start of the year, about 10 Nigerians have performed in Uganda.

Their music has slowly been dominating the airwaves on some of the media stations something that has left Ugandan musicians worried about their future.

Well, Uganda Musician Association (UMA) Committee led by incumbent President, Cindy Sanyu met the Constitutional Minister, Norbert Mao to address some of the challenges faced by the music industry.

One of the topics tackled was the prominence of foreign music that has suffocated local talent. Regulating the inflow of foreign musicians into Uganda has been tabled.

“We need to protect local cultures by regulating the inflow of foreign musicians into Uganda,” Mao said.

It is yet to be put into action but it is in the pipeline.
