Uganda's most trending rapper, Dexter, has opened up about his music career, revealing he has been pursuing it for quite some time now.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Dexter explained that "In a wa" is just his breakthrough song, but he has other songs that didn't become popular in Kampala.
"I have been doing music for a good time now but have been based away from Kampala. That trending song is off a full album; others didn't blow up, but at least this one made it to the top," he explained.
Dexter thanked Ugandans and artists who have supported him after listening to his trending song "In a wa" and promises to do more for the good of his music career.
The rapper also opened up about his upcoming collaboration with international award-winning artist Akon. He says the U.S.-based rapper contacted him directly and asked for a collaboration.
"Different artists across the world have supported me. For example, Akon DM'd me and invited me to his show. He says after the event, we shall go to the studio and work on something together," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
Dexter is the most trending Ugandan on TikTok at the moment. Artists, including Tems, have already jumped on the "In a wa" challenge.
