Musician Cinderella Sanyu is one of the most talented artists in the Ugandan music industry, and this has been evident over the years.

She is someone who doesn't settle for less. She has no respect for mediocre work and has called out fellow artists whenever an opportunity arises.

The President of the Uganda Musicians Association, however, has highlighted the biggest problem affecting the music industry at the moment, revealing it's the people using money to advance their careers without talent.

She explained that those who use money to push their music forward have ultimately affected the industry as a whole because they cannot compete globally.

They are shut out because they are untalented and cannot use money to influence the system beyond the country.

"What’s killing our industry is that Ugandans with money are often the ones who push their music forward, but they lack the talent to compete, especially on the global stage," she explained.

Cindy also warned Ugandan artists against overly copying foreign artists and their blend of sound.

She advocated for improving our own sound and music for the better.

"Foreign artists are good because they inspire us by introducing a new blend of sound. But the problem comes when we overdo it, leaving little room for Ugandan talent. We're working to improve the quality of our music so we can compete," she added.
