Musician Bebe Cool has dominated headlines this year, mostly because of his popular album, "Break the Chains."
The album, released in May, has received mixed reactions from various artists and other stakeholders in the music industry. Many have praised it and Bebe Cool in general, while others have criticized his work.
However, upcoming musician Victor Ruz believes Bebe Cool is doing the right thing and that the album has performed exceptionally well. He says the Gagamel boss is building bridges that will not only help him but also other Ugandan artists who are interested in breaking out internationally.
"Leaving other factors constant, Big Size is doing the right thing with the Break the Chains album," he wrote on his Facebook page. "It's only people who are not the target market who are complaining. All the steps he is taking are the steps we all wish to take if we had the same vision as his. Yes, it may not work for him now, but the bridges he is building might help another artist with the same vision tomorrow, only if we stop criticizing and start encouraging the movement. We correct flaws as we move. Don't just hate! Silly."
Victor Ruz believes Bebe Cool should be supported in his quest for an international audience. He shouldn't be criticized for taking the bold step, which many other artists admire but can't take because of finances.
