Ugandan rapper Fefe Bussi has openly criticized Eddy Kenzo, claiming that many musicians are bitter with the celebrated artist and presidential advisor over what he describes as lies surrounding copyright law reforms.
According to Fefe Bussi, in 2023 Eddy Kenzo gave hope to numerous artists after promising major progress on Uganda’s copyright law. Kenzo went on to form the Uganda Musicians Federation, bringing together different artists under a message of unity and togetherness. He reportedly assured musicians that he would work closely with government to push for amendments that would protect their creative rights.
However, years later, Fefe Bussi says nothing tangible has been achieved.
The rapper claims that while musicians continue to struggle, Kenzo has personally benefited from government handouts, leaving many artists feeling used and abandoned.
Speaking during an interview on a local podcast, Fefe Bussi did not mince his words, accusing Kenzo of misleading the music fraternity.
“Musicians are bitter with Eddy Kenzo because of his actions which are against their beliefs. He has not achieved anything for them. He fooled many of them and lied to them about copyright, yet he was busy working on President Museveni’s album,” Fefe Bussi said.
Fefe further alleged that many artists initially believed Kenzo was genuinely fighting for their interests, only to later realize that he was instead pushing political agendas.
The comments have reignited debate within the music industry about leadership, trust, and whether musicians have truly benefited from the formation of the Uganda Musicians Federation.
