Fast-rising musician Joshua Baraka believes Ugandan music and the wider East African arts industry are on the verge of global recognition.
The singer expressed excitement about what he described as a major revolution currently happening across the creative industry in East Africa.
According to Joshua Baraka, the transformation is not only happening in music but also in dance, fine art, film, and other creative sectors.
“I think art in Uganda is undergoing another revolution… From music to dance to fine art to film… I’m so happy seeing where we are going. East Africa is going to take over the world and our stories will be heard. The revolution will be televised. IT’S TIME,” he partly wrote.
Joshua Baraka believes the region’s creatives are increasingly embracing originality and storytelling, something he says will help East African art reach international audiences.
The singer is among a new generation of Ugandan artists working to expand their music beyond local borders and establish a stronger presence on the global stage.
His remarks have since attracted praise from fans who believe Ugandan and East African talent continues to gain international attention.
