Ugandan singer Kalifah AgaNaga has revealed that several artistes turned down his invitation to feature on the remix of his hit song "Nassanga."
Speaking during an interview with a local television station, AgaNaga said assembling the star-studded remix was more challenging than many fans might have imagined.
The singer explained that he reached out to a number of established Ugandan artistes in the hope of creating a blockbuster collaboration that would give the popular song a fresh appeal.
However, not everyone he approached was convinced by the project.
According to AgaNaga, Kapeke, Karole Kasita, and Chosen Becky all declined his request to feature on the remix.
Although he did not disclose the specific reasons each artiste gave, he suggested that unavailability and a lack of confidence in the project influenced their decisions.
Despite the setbacks, AgaNaga went on to release the remix featuring Eddy Kenzo, Winnie Nwagi, Weasel, and Lil Pazo, a collaboration that has generated widespread discussion since its release.
His revelation has since sparked debate among music fans, with some defending the artistes' right to choose the projects they participate in, while others believe they may have underestimated the remix's potential.
