Singer Lydia Jazmine has shared her experience with recording music in English, saying it has not been as rewarding as performing in Luganda.
Speaking during an interview with a local television station, Jazmine said she previously experimented with English-language songs but found that they did not translate into performance bookings.
According to the singer, her career gained more momentum after she embraced singing in Luganda, a move she believes also contributed to the success of her concert.
"Singing in English doesn't generate bookings in Uganda. I have tried it before, and I speak from experience. Even my concert came after I stuck to singing in Luganda," she partly explained.
Despite her observations about the local market, Jazmine said she has not abandoned her international ambitions.
She revealed that her upcoming album will feature several English-language songs as she continues pursuing a global audience while maintaining her local fan base.
